The Importance of Hiring a Wedding Planner

“Destiny is not a matter of chance; but a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved. ~William Jennings Bryan

If you found this site and blog, chances are you are probably newly engaged. Congratulations! If so, you may be looking forward to future plans with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. For most couples, thinking about their big day brings a tumult of mixed emotions. Love, joy, worry, the stress of a wedding can seem overwhelming. You would do just about anything to relieve the stress, hand the job off…except you cant. Releasing that burden also means doing something so terrifying it stops you in your
tracks. It means giving up your control, giving away the power to make your most special day, your wedding, exactly the way you imagine it. Who else could possibly bring your perfect and beautiful vision to reality? Who else can make your dreams come true?

It’s All About the Skills

If this is you, then you’re not alone. Skilled California wedding planners, such as those at So Eventful understand what you’re going through and can alleviate your fears. How do I know? Well, I have worked with them and know first hand the amazing value that they bring to a wedding. Whether they are doing full service planning of just stepping in on the day of, the truth is that hiring a professional is exactly what you need to bring your vision to life. Wedding planners have a rare combination of skills: they can organize and stay on top of the endless small details, and they are visually creative. They have what it takes to both imagine something amazing and make it a reality. The good news for you is that it’s easier than ever to help a planner create the wedding you want. Technology has turned wedding planning into a rich visual experience that allows you to literally show your planner your vision. Think Pinterest! Finally, you can step back with assurance, breath easy and actually enjoy the process of planning your wedding.

The Connections Make It Happen

A professional brings more to your wedding than just skills. They also have connections. Most brides know they probably need a florist, a caterer, baker, photographer and more, but few probably know where to find one. In the age of Google, you can just hop on the internet to find what you need, right? Wrong! How will you know if these vendors and professionals are any good? Your wedding planner already has that covered. They know who does good work because that’s who they partner with. They also know who specializes in a certain look or trend, such as florists and photographers. As the wedding planner, they are staking their reputation on these providers. Believe me,they will only work with the best. They will only bring the best to your wedding. Hiring the right wedding planner is often the difference between an average wedding and a swoonworthy one. And lets face it…You know which one you want.

Alaska Wedding First Look | Denali National Park -Tonglen Lake | April + Evan

“The best thing one can do when it’s raining is to let it rain.” ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

What do you do when it rains on your wedding day? Well, you let it rain. You take the kisses from the sky and rest in the presence of Love, that’s what you do. From the moment April and Evan awoke on their wedding day in rugged Alaska, they were at total peace. Why should anything ruin it now? They had waited patiently for this day…talking, planning, arranging… nothing was going to stop the celebration of their union.

So, when it came time to photograph their “First Look” and it began to lightly rain, this amazing couple still went for it, knowing the sweetness a first look adds to the wedding day. As April donned a pair of red rubber rain boots and matching shawl to keep her warm, Evan walked the trail around beautiful Tonglen Lake to their private meeting spot away from the gathering crowd and awaited his bride. This would be their only moments alone together to take it all in, to have private words and stolen kisses. And as softly as the rain came, as if to kiss this special couple, they gently held each other and let the rain fall all around. It was elegant, and natural, and divinely romantic… so I snapped away, capturing the moment. Walking back to the lodge we noticed a small greenhouse, they stepped inside. With the door shut and rain falling tenderly upon the roof, it was breathtaking and beautiful and I have to say my favorite part of the day! With sweet delight, I present to you April and Evan’s stolen moments when it rained during their Alaska wedding.
