“The best thing one can do when it’s raining is to let it rain.” ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
What do you do when it rains on your wedding day? Well, you let it rain. You take the kisses from the sky and rest in the presence of Love, that’s what you do. From the moment April and Evan awoke on their wedding day in rugged Alaska, they were at total peace. Why should anything ruin it now? They had waited patiently for this day…talking, planning, arranging… nothing was going to stop the celebration of their union.
So, when it came time to photograph their “First Look” and it began to lightly rain, this amazing couple still went for it, knowing the sweetness a first look adds to the wedding day. As April donned a pair of red rubber rain boots and matching shawl to keep her warm, Evan walked the trail around beautiful Tonglen Lake to their private meeting spot away from the gathering crowd and awaited his bride. This would be their only moments alone together to take it all in, to have private words and stolen kisses. And as softly as the rain came, as if to kiss this special couple, they gently held each other and let the rain fall all around. It was elegant, and natural, and divinely romantic… so I snapped away, capturing the moment. Walking back to the lodge we noticed a small greenhouse, they stepped inside. With the door shut and rain falling tenderly upon the roof, it was breathtaking and beautiful and I have to say my favorite part of the day! With sweet delight, I present to you April and Evan’s stolen moments when it rained during their Alaska wedding.
